§ 94. Mr. C. Johnsonasked the Minister of Aviation whether the Air Transport Licensing Board has started its public hearings; how many applications for air service licences have been received; and when he expects to appoint a chairman of the board.
§ Mr. ThorneycroftThe Air Transport Licensing Board held its first hearing on 14th March and tells me that it has so far received 213 applications for licences. I hope to be in a position to announce the name of the new chairman shortly.

The Board's capital borrowings are repayable. The Board's outstanding capital liability to the Minister in respect of advances made under Section 26 of the Coal Industry Nationalisation Act, 1946, was £585 million at 2nd January, 1960, as shown in Schedule VI to the Board's Accounts.
