HC Deb 15 March 1961 vol 636 c115W
2. Mr. Morris

asked the Secretary of State for War how much land is now held by the War Office in Wales; and, in view of the contraction of the number of soldiers, whether he will make a statement as to the future needs of the War Office for these lands.

Mr. Profumo

The War Office at present holds about 48,000 acres in Wales, 9,000 acres of which are being given up. We must keep the remainder for the long-term needs of the Army.
