§ 60. Mr. Benceasked the Minister of Transport what steps he proposes to take to protect British shipping interests in the United Kingdom-United States Great Lakes trade, resulting from the recent decision by the United States Federal Maritime Board regarding British shipping rights.
§ Mr. MarplesI understand that the shipping companies concerned are appealing against the Board's decision in the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. Certain aspects of this case have been the subject of representations by Her Majesty's Government to the United States Government already but the Board's recent decision is a new development, the implications of which are being carefully examined.
