§ 3. Mr. Boxasked the Minister of Transport when he intends to authorise the introduction of 40 miles-per-hour speed limits on certain roads in the Cardiff area; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. HayThe Cardiff City Council has proposed 40 m.p.h. limits on four roads. We have agreed on Penarth Road and, subject to consideration of any objections, on Llantrisant Road also. We will shortly be giving public notice of our intention to impose a 40 m.p.h. limit on Western Avenue which is a trunk road. The proposal for Newport Road is still being examined by our divisional road engineer.
