§ 63. Mr. Danceasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he intends to table a Statutory Instrument, in accordance with the Betting Levy Act, 1961, appointing the day on which the Horserace Betting Levy Board is to be established.
§ 72. Mr. Wingfield Digbyasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will make a statement about the appointment of the Chairman of the Horserace Betting Levy Board and the other appointments he is empowered to make under the Betting Levy Act, 1961; and when the Act will come into force.
§ Mr. RentonI am glad to say that Field Marshal Lord Harding of Petherton has agreed to be Chairman of the Horserace Betting Levy Board. My right hon. Friend will shortly announce other appointments under the Act. After that he will make an Order setting up the Board so that all necessary preparations can be made for collecting contributions from bookmakers for the levy period beginning on 1st April, 1962.
