HL Deb 10 July 1961 vol 233 c70WA
VICOUNT MONSELL

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will now impose a limit on the rent of flats that are leased, and meals bought on expense accounts, and so mitigate the ever increasing rise in rent and cost of meals in restaurants.

THE MINISTER WITHOUT PORT-FOLIO (THE EARL OF DUNDEE)

I assume that my noble friend is thinking of a limit for the purposes of income tax allowances. I am bringing his suggestion to the notice of my right honourable friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer.

House adjourned at fourteen minutes past six o'clock.
