Mr. Swinglerasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies why Mr. Lamin Foday Jarju, a Gambian and a British subject, formerly in possession of a British passport, whose London address is 14, Ashburnham Road, S.W.10, is being refused a new passport, which he requires for the purpose of visiting his wife in Germany.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodThe issue of a new passport is within the discretion of the Governor of the Gambia, to whom the application was referred immediately after its receipt on 26th June. The Governor's decision is awaited.
