§ 77. Mr. J. Griffithsasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance what was the rate of disabling sickness and deaths due to bronchitis and emphysema among coal miners during the year 1960; and if he will give comparable figures for the insured population as a whole.
§ Mr. Boyd-Carpenter:I regret that up-to-date figures are not available. As, however, I have stated in my Answer today to my noble Friend the Member for Hertford (Lord Balniel) arrangements are being made for the year beginning in June, 1961, to collect information which should provide facts about relative rates of incapacity due to these and other causes as between different occupations.
