HL Deb 26 January 1961 vol 227 cc1393-4WA
LORD FREYBERG

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will make a statement on the granting of General Service Medals to members of the forces which have been engaged in the Arabian Peninsula.

THE LORD PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL AND MINISTER FOR SCIENCE (VISCOUNT HAILSHAM)

Yes. Her Majesty has approved proposals for the grant of General Service Medals for specified service in operations in the Arabian Peninsula between January 1, 1957, and June 30, 1960, in resistance to border raids and against bands of dissidents. A short Command Paper on the subject is available in the Printed Paper Office.

House adjourned at half past seven o'clock.
