63. Mr. Willey

asked the President of the Board of Trade what action has been taken in Sunderland under Section 2 of the Local Employment Act, 1960.

Mr. N. Macpherson

Since 1st April, 1960, approval has been given under Section 2 of the Local Employment Act for 48,400 sq. ft. of new factory building in the Sunderland area to provide an estimated increase of 485 new jobs.

64. Mr. Willey

asked the President of the Board of Trade what grants have been made under Section 3 of the Local Employment Act, 1960, to persons carrying on or proposing to carry on undertakings in Sunderland.

Two building grants have been offered under Section 3 of the Act, to provide 560 jobs.
