§ Mr. Ellis Smithasked the Secretary to the Treasury to set out in tabular form the percentage of the national income which was spent by the central Government during 1946, 1956, 1959, and 1960; what are the estimated percentages for 1961 for total expenditure and for education, health, child care, agriculture, social services, housing, and defence, respectively; and if he will give the equivalent figures for similar services out of local authorities expenditure.
