§ Lord Balnielasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what action he has taken to deal with housing camps on requisitioned land.
§ Mr. H. Brooke:At the beginning of 1959 there were 162 camps on requisitioned land, housing 2,184 families. By the end of 1960, when requisitioning powers lapsed, my Department in cooperation with the local authorities concerned had succeeded in getting all these camp sites either cleared and derequisitioned or taken on lease from the owner.
