§ Mr. J. H. Osbornasked the Parliamentary Secretary for Science whether a decision has yet been taken in respect of the five major research projects approved in principle by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research Council, subject to availability of funds.
§ Mr. Denzil FreethI am glad to say that the D.S.I.R. have decided to offer three of these grants, namely, a nuclear reactor for the Scottish Universities, and two projects in radio astronomy—one for Professor Ryle of Cambridge University, and the other for Professor Sir Bernard Lovell of Manchester University.
