HC Deb 20 December 1961 vol 651 cc156-7W
49. Mr. J. Griffiths

asked the Minister of Transport why he refused the request of the Carmarthenshire County Council for a pedestrian crossing at the junction of Sandy Road and Denham Avenue, Llanelly; and whether, in view of the representations of the local road safety committee, he will reconsider his decision.

Mr. Marples

Because the volumes of vehicular and pedestrian traffic were insufficient to justify the provision of a crossing. I see no reason to depart from this decision.
