Mr. Compton Carr

asked the Minister of Education whether his attention has been drawn to the opposition of both pupils and parents to the proposed closure of the Latymer Foundation School, Hammersmith Road, London, W.6; what advice he has given in the matter; and if he will make a statement.

Yes. My right hon. Friend has advised those who oppose the closure of this voluntary school that the decision was taken by the governors, who are entitled to do so under the Education Acts. He is satisfied that the governors reached their decision only after very carefully considering all the circumstances.
