HC Deb 12 December 1961 vol 651 c40W
Mr. Dempsey

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what estimate he has made of the number of houses required in Scotland to provide adequate housing standards for persons who neither tenant nor own a house and others in need of rehousing, respectively; and when he expects to achieve these targets.

Mr. Maclay

No recent estimates under these heads have been constructed. I do not think that a time can ever arrive when no new houses will be needed.
