§ Sir D. EcclesOn 31st March, 1961, 86 per cent. of the full-time teachers serving in maintained primary and secondary schools in England and Wales were trained. Many factors will influence the proportion in five years' time but it seems likely that the percentage of trained teachers will be higher by then.
