§ Mr. Godman Irvineasked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations what progress has been made under the programme for providing some 5,000 additional hostel places for Commonwealth and other overseas students.
§ Mr. SandysFinancial assistance has been approved subject to final legal agreement for nine projects put forward by voluntary organisations through the British Council. These are located in London, Glasgow, Manchester, Blackburn, Birmingham, Hull and Ipswich and the organisations receiving assistance224W are the Y.M.C.A., the Methodist International Houses and the Catholic Students International Chaplaincy. The number of places to be provided is about 460. Other proposals are also being considered.
