§ Miss PittI understand that 8,863 vacancies for State registered and enrolled nurses and 9,271 vacancies for student and pupil nurses in the hospital service in England, Wales and Scotland were current at offices of the Ministry of Labour at 31st December, 1960. Comparable figures for 31st December, 1959, were 8,256 and 9,338 respectively.
