§ 57. Mr. Callaghanasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if, in connection with the implementation of the Probation of Offenders Act in Malta, the Governor will invite a member of the Home Office Probation Inspectorate to visit Malta to advise on the establishment of the probation service; and if, in particular, in connection with the appointment of senior officers in the service, only persons who have had specific probation training will be appointed.
§ Mr. H. FraserSuch a visit is not considered necessary as a probation service has been established and a principal probation officer and five probation officers have been appointed, all of whom have received specialised training in this country.
