Ropnerasked the Minister of Aviation whether, in view of the increasing number of thefts from civil aircraft and at airports, he will issue general instructions to the chairmen of British European Airways and the British Overseas Airways Corporation that improved security measures must be taken; and what consultations he has had with the Secretary of State for the Home Department and other police authorities about this matter.
§ Mr. ThorneycroftThe importance of combating this type of crime is fully recognised by the Airline Corporations and the police who work closely together on the matter, and I do not consider that any specific instructions or consultations are called for.
