Mr. Gresham Cooke

asked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the fact that traffic can be stopped four times on the North Circular Road between Edgware Road and Neasden Lane due to the traffic signals not being linked, he will make use of the cables already laid for the purpose and link the signals to provide for a green wave flow of traffic in both directions.

Mr. Marples

The signals are, in fact, linked in the best manner possible to give equal treatment to traffic in both directions on the North Circular Road.
