§ 34. Mr. W. Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for War why his Department refuses to disclose the names and addresses of purchasers of surplus War 29W Department properties; and whether he will take steps to end this practice.
§ Mr. ProfumoIt is not the practice of Government Departments, any more than of private interests, to disclose without permission the names and addresses of purchasers of their property. I see no reason to change this principle so far as the War Department is concerned. But I will, of course, always forward a letter to the purchaser's legal representatives.
