§ 70. Mr. Partridgeasked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations whether any help has been offered to the Government of Pakistan in connection with the recent cyclone in the neighbourhood of Chittagong.
§ Mr. SandysHer Majesty's Government were deeply grieved to learn of the heavy loss of life and destruction caused by the tidal wave, following in the wake of the cyclone which struck the neigh314W bourhood of Chittagong in East Pakistan on 10th October I am sure that the House will wish to join me in expressing our deep sympathy with all who have suffered in this disaster.
Her Majesty's Government have made a donation of a lakh of rupees towards the relief of distress.
The House will be asked in due course to vote the necessary Supplementary Estimate.
