§ 73. Mr. Rankinasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies when he received from the British Council of Churches their resolutions, details of which have been sent to him by the hon. Member for Govan, concerning the Report of the Monckton Commission; what reply he has made; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodI received a copy of the resolutions on 31st October. On 14th November a deputation from the British Council of Churches was received by my right hon. Friend the Commonwealth Secretary and my noble Friend the Minister of State, when the Council's views were discussed. The delegation were assured that their views would be fully taken into account by Her Majesty's Government.
