2. Mr. John Hall

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what he estimates would be the gross value which an estate would need to reach today to yield the same purchasing power after payment of Estate Duty as was yielded in 1938, also after payment of Estate Duty, by estates valued at £5,000, £50,000, £100,000, and £150,000, respectively.
