§ 71. Mr. Pagetasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will institute a public inquiry into the workings of the Street Offences Act and its effect on organised crime in London.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerI can find no grounds for instituting such an inquiry. The Commissioner of Police has at present no information to support the suggestion that an increase in organised crime has resulted from the operation of the Street Offences Act, but he will continue to watch the position closely.
