§ Mr. John HareColorado beetles have been reported on four occasions in the week ended 24th May; all were in England. Only five beetles were involved and all were associated with imported produce or aircraft. As no breeding colonies were found, it was not necessary to utilise the special resources of my Colorado beetle depot, where spraying machinery and chemicals are kept ready for emergencies. My officers are maintaining their vigilance at the ports and inland, and the public has been asked to look out for further beetles.
