§ Mr. Houghtonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what legal action has been taken my him, on behalf of the Board of Inland Revenue, against those responsible for publishing libels on officers of the Inland Revenue Department in an article, a copy of which has been forwarded to him.
Mr. AmoryNo legal action has been taken, but I welcome the opportunity of deploring the article in question. It wholly misrepresents the attitude of Inland Revenue officers who do their best to be fair and helpful to the tax-paying public, as I am sure is widely appreciated.
