§ Mr. Edelmanasked the Minister of Health which United States firms with subsidiary companies in Great Britain are at present being charged before the Senate Anti-Monopoly Sub-Committee with having created public hardship by the monopolist control of pharmaceutical prices for Salk vaccine; and what inquiry he has made into the incidence of comparable practices by these firms in this country.
§ Mr. Walker-SmithSo far as I am aware, no charges relating specifically to the price of Salk vaccine have been made before the Senate Sub-Committee on Anti-Trust and Monopoly. Five manufacturers of Salk vaccine were recently charged with price fixing by the Federal Government in the courts but I understand that the charge was dismissed.
