asked the Minister of Health what steps are being taken to increase the number of ancillary workers for the dental service.

Mr. Walker-Smith

A training course for dental hygienists started in Manchester last autumn. Other training units are expected to be ready this year. The General Dental Council's experimental training scheme for dental auxiliaries is planned to start in the autumn.
