§ 85. Dr. Kingasked the Minister of Education if he will state for each year from 1960 to 1970 the estimated number of extra teachers which will be provided if the present expansion of training college places from 23,000 to 39,000 is completed by 1963, and a further 8,000 places are provided by 1967.
§ Sir D. EcclesI would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to him yesterday. If the present expansion of training college places were completed by 1963 and 8,000 places were provided so as to begin producing teachers in 1967, the estimate for each of the years 1966, 1968 and 1969 would be increased by a further 3,600.
