asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what is the percentage of unemployment in Cyprus; whether it has increased during the last year; and what has been the percentage increase.

In May, 1960, the registered unemployed amounted to 1.7 per cent. of the working population. In that month, the figure was .5 per cent. higher than in May, 1959, but lower than the figure for March. 1960.
