§ Mr. Moyleasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will state, as far as can be ascertained, the total value of property transferred inter vivos without payment upon which stamp duties were paid during the last year for which figures are available and during the years 1938–39, 1951–52, and 1955–56, or during those years nearest to the above years for which information is available; and if he will also state the main types and amounts of property included in the total at the various dates.
§ Mr. BarberI regret that this information is not available because the records of transfers of property do not distinguish cases where there was no payment.
