HL Deb 02 June 1960 vol 224 c394WA
LORD BOSSOM

asked Her Majesty's Government if they would consider issuing a memorandum to the local authorities responsible, advising them to follow uniformity in their road signs based on some series that the Government has already established.

THE JOINT PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY, MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT (LORD CHESHAM)

My Lords, the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions, 1957, provide for a uniform system of traffic signs throughout this country. Copies were sent to all highway authorities, who should be in no doubt about the requirements of the law.

House adjourned at a quarter before eight o'clock.
