§ Mr. Pavittasked the Minister of Health (1) what steps he proposes to take to obtain full and reliable information concerning the costs and profits relating to proprietary drugs supplied to the Health Service; and when he expects to have this information available;
(2) what action he intends to take to improve the machinery of his Department for investigating the facts about advertising costs incurred by the pharmaceutical manufacturers; and how big an 223W ingredient these costs form in the price of Health Service drugs.
§ Miss PittThe hon. Member doubtless has in mind the recommendations made by the Committee of Public Accounts in its Report published on 27th July. My right hon. Friend would prefer at this stage to say no more than that he is giving immediate and earnest thought to these recommendations.
