§ Miss Vickersasked the Minister of Health whether he will make a statement about the Government's policy with regard to the recommendations in the Report of the Younghusband Working Party on social workers in the local authority, health and welfare services.
§ Miss PittYes. In the light of the consultations with interested bodies the Government accept generally the main recommendations in this Report. We propose to introduce legislation to establish a National Council for Social Work Training, and so far as England and Wales are concerned this will also provide for the setting up of a separate but associated council for the training of health visitors.
