§ Mr. Pageasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what action he proposes to take on the recent report of a sub-committee of his Department's Central Advisory Water Committee on Trade Effluence.
§ Mr. H. BrookeThe sub-committee has recommended some important changes in the existing law governing166W the discharge of effluents into rivers and sewers. My first step must be to consider any comments which interested bodies may wish to make on the general principles of the report, particularly bodies representing industry, the local authorities and the river boards. I hope that any such comments will reach me promptly, and I shall certainly study them as a matter of urgency.
