§ Mr. Sydney Irvingasked the Postmaster-General what provision will be made in the new quarterly accounts from the Dartford Exchange for a separation between local and trunk calls; and what arrangements he makes for checking the accuracy of such accounts.
§ Mr. BevinsAt Dartford, as at all exchanges with subscriber trunk dialling facilities, all calls dialled by the subscriber are charged in units of time. All such calls are recorded on the same meters, and charges for the local and trunk calls are not shown separately in the accounts. The meters are extremely reliable and are regularly tested.
The charges for local or trunk calls connected by telephone operators will be shown separately in the new accounts.
