§ 78. Mr. N. Pannellasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what was the net influx of immigrants into the United Kingdom from the Republic of Eire, India, Pakistan, and Malta, respectively, for the 10 months ended 31st October, 1960, as compared with the similar period in 1959.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerThe estimated net inward movement from India and Pakistan during the first ten months of 1959 was 2,750 and 1,000 respectively; and for the first ten months of 1960, 4,100 and 1,300, respectively. In the case of Malta there was an estimated net outward movement of 300 in the former period and 1,200 in the latter. No figures are available in respect of the Irish Republic.
