asked Her Majesty's Government what annual grants are made to Libya, and what proportion of the country's total revenue does this represent.

THE JOINT PARLIAMENTARY UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS (THE MARQUESS OF LANSDOWNE)

Her Majesty's Government are currently providing financial assistance to Libya at the rate of £3¼ million per annum. This represents about a quarter of the Libyan revenue, which has been estimated at just over £13 million for the current year. There has also been a gift of military equipment to assist the Libyan Government to bring their army up to strength.
