§ Mr. Ness Edwardsasked the Prime Minister if, in order to provide the material for an improved accountability of the Executive to Parliament, he will cause each of the Departmental Ministers to issue an annual report covering the operations of his Department.
§ The Prime MinisterSeveral Departments already produce annual reports covering all or selected parts of their respective fields of operation. There may be advantage from time to time in extending these arrangements, but I do not think that it would serve any useful purpose to require these reports over the whole range of departmental responsibilities.
