Captain Kerby

asked the Minister of Aviation the cost to date of building and operating the Spadeadam rocket research station.

Mr. Sandys

To date, the cost of building the Spadeadam Rocket Establishment has been £19,400,000 and the cost of operating it has been £1.200,000.

Captain Kerby

asked the Minister of Aviation if he envisages the close-down of the Spadeadam rocket research station when United States alternatives to the independent British Blue Streak deterrent missile come to be issued by the United States Government to Her Majesty's forces.
