HC Deb 30 November 1959 vol 614 cc84-5W
69. Dr. Stross

asked the Minister of Health what proportion of the total capital outlay of the Birmingham Regional Hospital Board for the revised 1959 programme is allocated to North Staffordshire; and when the proposed new maternity hospital at the City General, Stoke-on-Trent, will be completed and in use.

Mr. Walker-Smith

The estimated capital expenditure for the Birmingham Regional Hospital Board for 1959–60 is approximately £1,300,000, of which nearly 6 per cent. relates to the Stoke-on-Trent area of North Staffordshire; it is not yet possible to say when the new maternity hospital at Stoke-on-Trent will be completed.
