§ Dr. A. Thompsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will consider introducing legislation to bring personal credit schemes for the purchase of household goods within the terms of the Money-enders Acts, 1900 and 1927, thereby giving protection to the public as regards advertisement and interest rates.
§ Mr. MaclayI understand that criminal proceedings are pending which may raise the question whether a personal credit scheme falls within the Moneylenders Acts. It seems desirable first to have the law established in this way.
