HC Deb 25 November 1959 vol 614 c40W
44. Mr. A. Evans

asked the Postmaster-General what instructions are given to Post Office officials regarding the giving of information about Post Office employees to unknown persons on the telephone.

Mr. Bevins

The rules specify the circumstances in which information about Post Office officials may be given and to whom. Normally, such information would not be given in answer to a telephone inquiry. If the hon. Member believes that a breach of the rules has occurred, I should be grateful if he would let me have details.
