§ Mr. W. Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware that the Scottish Special Housing Association standard rents for two- and three-apartment houses are being exceeded in the case of the Association's houses about to be occupied in the burgh of Culross in Fife; and what steps he intends to take to avoid the hardship which will result from such rents.
§ Mr. MaclayIt is the Association's practice, where local authority rents are higher than their own approved standard rents, to adopt the local authority rents. A rebate scheme to prevent hardship in individual cases is an essential part of the Association's rents system. I am writing fully to the hon. Member in reply to his recent letter on this subject.
