§ Sir J. Duncanasked the Prime Minister whether he will make a statement about Ministerial responsibility for the Board of Crown Estate Commissioners.
§ The Prime MinisterYes. It is proposed that my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer should take over the responsibility vested in the Lord Privy Seal by Section 3 (3) of the Crown Estate Act, 1956. The responsibility of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland would remain unaltered. Her Majesty has been fully acquainted with this intended change, and the necessary Order in166W Council will be placed before Her for Her approval in Council and laid before the House.
