§ 73. Mr. Goughasked the Minister of Transport what is the reason for the delay, since 23rd November, 1956, in erecting traffic lights at the Manor Royal-London Road-Martyrs Avenue junction of the London to Brighton trunk road, A.23, at Crawley.
§ Mr. HayMy hon. Friend will recall that, in answer to his Question of 20th February, 1959, my right hon. Friend's predecessor said that the Divisional Road Engineer has suggested that traffic lights could be installed with a cheap and simple road improvement. This was not acceptable to the various authorities concerned, and it has now been agreed that a major improvement involving the acquisition of land should be carried out. We hope to be able to fit this scheme into the programme soon.
