Yatesasked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware of the transport problem in Birmingham, as evidenced by the traffic jam which occurred on all major roads leading to the city on 13th November; and what plans he has in mind to remove unnecessary obstacles to the orderly flow of traffic.
§ Mr. MarplesTraffic control measures in Birmingham are the responsibility of the corporation. I am providing major financial assistance to their inner ring road scheme, the first part of which is now nearing completion.
